How the fibre used in milk yarns is created

Milk fibre is a member of the viscose family.

It is made using a controlled process in which casein, noble milk protein, is separated from the whey and denatured. The amino acids are extracted from this, and are then added to an extrudable viscose solution and extruded to obtain the actual milk fibre.

Milk fibre is temperature-regulating, breathable and naturally antibacterial.

It can be used to make milk yarns that are then used to create bright, soft fabrics with a silky appearance.

The casein proteins in milk fibres nourish and hydrate even the most delicate skin.

Particularly pleasant and comfortable on the skin, it is a very suitable fibre for yarns used in making children’s clothing.
