The Global organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the most widely used, relevant and complete certification of organic origin in the textile sector.

This certification is supported and developed by leading international non-profit organisations involved in organic farming to ensure that the consumer gets organic textile products that comply with applicable environmental and social criteria at all levels of production.

The GOTS requires an environmental statement verified by third parties to attest that: both intermediate and finished products contain natural fibres from organic farming, traceability is maintained throughout the production process, use of chemicals is restricted, and environmental and social criteria are observed throughout the production chain, from gathering natural fibres in the field to the subsequent manufacturing stages and finished product labelling.

GOTS Certification covers production, packaging, labelling, exportation, importation and distribution of textile products made from natural fibres that are certified as being organic.
