What is knitwear? Properties and qualities of knitting yarn

Knitwear is a category of fabrics consisting of one or more curvilinear yarns interwoven with one another through the use of a set of needles.

The chains formed by the interwoven yarns make the fabric the stretchable and behave like “springs”, yielding to the tension and then returning to their original positions.

Knitted fabrics are therefore highly elastic, regardless of the type of knitting yarn used, and they are also highly porous.
