What is knitwear? Properties and qualities of knitting yarn

Knitwear is a category of fabrics consisting of one or more curvilinear yarns interwoven with one another through the use of a set of needles.

The chains formed by the interwoven yarns make the fabric the stretchable and behave like “springs”, yielding to the tension and then returning to their original positions.

Knitted fabrics are therefore highly elastic, regardless of the type of knitting yarn used, and they are also highly porous. 

Knitting yarns ensure that garments are comfortable

This important feature results in comfortable clothing that fits the shape of the wearer.

Linking the stitches in different ways and selecting different knitting yarns produces fabrics with different properties and elasticities.
